Self-Help?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2468″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The gospel is not self-help! God is not even remotely into self-help. If we had the power to help ourselves, then God would have been an idiot to let us crucify him.

We couldn’t help ourselves after we sinned in Eden, we have failed to help ourselves since then, and we will continue to fail if mankind continues for millions more years.

Yet Christian bookstores overflow with self-help books that claim to have the right answers for those who have the right understanding. And they’re all wrong.

Self-help is one of the leading lies of the ages.

Another is that Jesus was a wonderful man. He was not a wonderful man. Jesus is and always be Almighty God, incomparable, uncompromising and unmanageable.

Jesus does not need to be understood by us. We need to accept the salvation he purchased for us and, thus enabled, to stop behaving like the sinners we were.

Evil—whether it’s modified, modernized or rationalized—is evil. It cannot be defined or redefined by cultures, ages or visionaries. And every man conceived of man has been evil. Only one man in history, though born of a woman, was conceived of God.

Times recently began that have never been before. We have not entered a new era. We have nothing to relate it to in order to get our head around it. But it’s all about God. All about Jesus. And the only part of it that is about us is what we say to Jesus. Yes. Or no. Everything in our life—temporal and eternal—will hinge on that.

You don’t have to believe me. But, if you haven’t yet, you will have to decide.
